Your flight
will depart Las Vegas at approximately 7 a.m.
Taking off you will have great views over historic
Boulder City, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, as well as
extinct volcanoes. The plane will fly over the
Grand Canyon, and actually land there, giving you
wonderful vistas of the Canyon from the air.
Please note that there is no ground tour of the Grand
Canyon. You will have an opportunity to stretch
your legs at the Grand Canyon airport while the plane
refuels.
The flight
continues on to Monument Valley, flying over some
spectacular scenery, before approaching the buttes and
mesas of Monument Valley.
For fans of old
western movies, Monument Valley is the epicenter of the
west, with many great cowboys and Indians films having
been shot in the area.
You will be
met by a Navajo guide in a four wheel drive, off road,
vehicle, who will take you for a tour of Monument Valley
that last about an hour and a half.
Amongst the sites that your tour may take in are Anasazi
ruins, petroglyphs, movie locations, 1000 foot
monoliths, rug weaving and Indian hogans. Several of the
famous monuments are visited, as well as areas which
contain rock windows and arches of unique shapes. A box
lunch is served at Monument Valley.
Travel
time from hotel to hotel is approximately 10 hours.
A
second Monument Valley air tour is also offered, which
